Twenty-two employees and their families showed up to volunteer from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm for the cleanup followed by a two hour Trash Bash. The bash was a celebration of the hard work put in during the morning and included foods, drinks, live music and prizes.
During the cleanup, two Dometic employees brought their personal boats to the cleanup, which provided small groups access to waterway areas. Some of the larger items brought in by boat were a wooden board, a sheet of plywood, a tire, two patio chairs and a recycling bin.
“It is important to give back to our community so that everyone can enjoy being outdoors,” stated Ned Trigg, Executive Vice President of Marine Division for Dometic. “It is our goal to ensure that outdoor enthusiasts at all levels can enjoy the parks and waterways not just today, but for years to come.”
One of Dometic’s missions this year is to improve employee involvement in community events at all of their locations throughout the Americas region. The Waterway Cleanup was a great way to kick off the year for volunteering!
