RV owners who love to take their bikes along on holiday are familiar with the situation: The rear-view camera, typically fitted in the upper section of the vehicle rear, gives only a very restricted picture of the situation behind the vehicle when the bike rack is fully loaded.
Dometic’s unique idea to solve this common problem is to mount a rear-view camera at the lower part of the bike rack. The unit in a compact housing secures the perfect rear view without having any obstacles in the line of sight. In this way, the risk of misjudging the length of the rack can be excluded as well.
Dometic’s new CAM200Bike Rack Camera is easy to install without drilling on most of the bike racks in the market. The camera housing simply slides into the outer rail of the bike rack by tightening the in-built screws.
The compact device integrates two individually adjustable camera modules, to achieve the best possible viewing angle. The smart electronic system of the CAM200 Bike Rack Camera automatically switches between the two cameras to give the driver the perfect rear view even when bikes are attached.
The camera’s system cable is detachable, so that the bike rack can be effortlessly removed from the vehicle. The product is dust-and waterproof according to protection class IP69K and the innovation around this product is protected by patents.
The Dometic CAM200 Bike Rack Camera will be available on the market from February 1, 2020.
The prices start at EUR 379 (incl. VAT).
