All Dometic production facilities in Europe now powered by renewable electricity

Stockholm, Sweden – May 18, 2022 Dometic has entered the next phase in the implementation of its sustainability strategy. All production facilities in Europe are now powered with 100% renewable electricity. The reduction of emissions corresponds to those of approximately 1000 passenger cars for one year. This is a step towards one of the new goals to fully power production facilities with renewable electricity.

As a leading player in the mobile living arena, Dometic is committed to driving sustainability in the industry. By offering innovative, durable, low-carbon products, that inspire an active, comfortable, and responsible life in the outdoors, Dometic contributes to a more sustainable world and enables people to enjoy and explore nature - locally and more frequently.

To show its commitment, Dometic has entered the next phase in the implementation of the company’s sustainability strategy. The program stretches over the next three years until 2024. An overview of the program and targets can be found under the Sustainability section on the website Dometic.com

Energy efficiency in production and the product use phase have long been key environmental targets that contribute to reducing the climate impact of Mobile Living. One of the new goals in the new program is to fully power production facilities with renewable electricity. The target for 2030 is to reduce CO2 emissions by 50% in relation to net sales.

As a result of this, all of Dometic’s production facilities in Europe are now powered with 100 percent renewable electricity. The CO2 emissions avoided by transitioning to renewable electricity in the European sites correspond to those of approximately 1000 passenger cars for one year (or 572,000,000 smartphones charged). The efforts continue to find solutions to power all production facilities globally with renewable electricity.

Since the Q1 interim report 2021, Dometic is reporting progress towards the climate target and three other sustainability targets on a quarterly basis. As of 2021, those sustainability targets are integrated in the Long-Term Incentive program for the group management. Their targets are set on CO2 emission reductions, injury rate and percentage of female managers.
